I was born and raised Mormon, left at 18 then returned a few years ago. When I returned I just went back as if I never left and didn't really investigate the beliefs like I should have. After a couple years I left again. For those of you that know Mormon terminology I was a second counselor in the Branch presidency, Elders quorum president and president of the young men. I've also been to the temple.

As I prepare to be baptized in the Catholic church I can tell you a couple of my shocking realizations. First, if Mormons believe they partake of the body and blood of Christ why do they throw away the extra bread and water? They believe the Book of Mormon is the completeness of the gospel. This one really floored me. Why would God send his only son yet not give us the completeness of his gospel. Instead he waited 1800 years to give it to a 14 year old boy? Then of course, there was the day I realized I had been using a Protestant (King James) bible all these years compiled 400 years ago instead of our Catholic Bible compiled around 400.

In the end, I don't know that there's anything that will immediately convince a Mormon that their church is wrong. Just pray for them, love them and maybe one day a light will go on above their head like it did for me.

Welcome to the forum, Aaron. We have a few former Mormons here, as this thread shows.

Hi Steven,

Welcome to the forum.

I removed the link you placed in your post because it appeared to violate this portion of the forum guidelines:

References to commercial web sites are acceptable if they are germane to the discussion, but posts purely to advertise commercial sites are not.

Thanks for your understanding.
