| Ask God to open my heart to Mary, so she can take me to her Son so He can heal my broken heart and crushed spirit. I want to believe and embrace the teachings of the Church, it's so hard when you've been told all your adult life that it is false doctrine and it will lead you astray, not to mention being seduced by false hope all your life, God help me!

Give it time, Mark. God’s grace will heal those wounds, but it won’t be immediate. Perseverance is the key.
Once upon a time I was a new convert, and I must say that Mary was the last battle I had to fight. It raged for a couple of years after I entered the Church. But as time passed, so too did the scars of anti-Catholic indoctrination. Remember what I said in the other thread on Mary about the effect of divine grace on wounded souls. God will keep you safe as he speaks to your heart the truth about his human mother. Just keep close to Jesus, incarnate in the Eucharist, and little by little you will understand and embrace Mary.

David Perhaps my avatar was a good choice?!

For the time being, I think it is an apt choice. But while your case is especially acute, I do not see it as all that different from the common journey of religious converts. It is a trip through the forest with Hansel and Gretel, and there are many scary things out there in the darkness… not to mention the wicked witch waiting for them in the cottage where they thought to take refuge. But eventually most people escape from the witch and emerge from the forest. I did, and I believe you can, too. Afterwards, when you look back on it, it’s not half as bad as what you experienced earlier on. Nothing could be that bad, could it?

If only you could see in my heart and mind!
The concept of the avatar is being in the hands of God in the midst of terror, wich I trust now is where I am.

As a matter of fact, this is exactly how I have envisioned you. I believe that, as assigned by God, your guardian angel is making this journey with you. He is showing you where to step, even when you can’t see anything in the spooky woods. One step at a time, Mark. Just follow the angel’s voice within you and move when you are ready.
