My sister in-law lost her father yesterday. He was 95. She was his only child. Her mother died about 13-14 years ago.

My nephew, of the same family, has been shipped off to Afghanistan and let's pray that she doesn't join the ranks of Gold Star Mothers. My brother didn't seem too worried, but with our Taliban friends stirring up trouble this summer, I'm placing my nephew's soul and body in trust to the Lord at the foot of the cross. Your prayers will also be greatly appreciated.

And, by the way, I'm on the mend from what I shared before in this thread.
Thank you ever so much and God Bless you all!

Steven

Stephen,

You and your family will be in my prayers this weekend.  God bless you and remember our beloved Pope John Paul II's words, "Be not afraid."

Love in Christ,

Darlene

Dear Darlene,

Thank you for the prayers. If there's anybody who should be afraid, it's the Taliban. My nephew once chased after a guy who held up the IHOP. He didn't get the bum, but he did receive some shocked gasps from his parents.

His bravura is considerably less these days. After all, he wants to finish up law school. He missed the invasion campaign, but Uncle Sam's patience lasts only so long. But one semester away from graduation and prep. for the bar review.

Well, I've only got so much time on this machine before my missus picks me up.

God Bless you and your family this weekend, and again,
thanks for your prayers.

Steven
