Please keep me in your prayers as I feel I am passing through something (spiritial/emotional) in my life. I have not quite defined it. I feel tired -not physically- and my prayer time is consisting of no more than a repetitive rosary. I am asking the Lord at this moment to save me from myself, from falling into temptation, and from falling into "I don't care" attitute because I know that my soul cares. :?

| Angie, if possible, I recommend you go to a nearby catholic church and sit before the Blessed Sacrament. Even if you don't feel like praying, if you sit there and think for awhile it may help. Give it as much time as you can. I believe it was David who said we all go through "dry spells" in our spiritual lives.

| Also, the fact that you are persevering with the "repetitive" rosary means that you are doing it by faith alone.

I'll continue to pray for you, as these dry spell's in our spiritual life can be very discouraging and exhausting. Remember two things.
1) the discouragement comes from the evil one, he knows whats going on and he will choose this time to temp you.
2) But Christ grace is sufficient for the fight and he has given it to you for your defence. the rosary is the best weapon, but if you have trouble with it, Even the Jesus Prayer will do in times of need. I just continueally repeat it through out the day.
"Jesus Christ, The only son of God, Have Mercy on me a sinner".
Marsha suggestion of going to the blessed Sacrament is one I also agree with very much.
I pray his peace and assurance be with you in your struggle
Betty

Angie, this is a sign that God is working on you internally, making you stronger by stripping away all your attachments.
As Marsha says, this is the “pure faith” part of your journey. You “can’t pray,” and you feel like you are slipping backwards. Yet, as you are aware, your “soul cares.” You remain solicitous to do God’s will. And you will be doing it if you persevere in your “lousy prayer” and seeking God in the blessed sacrament until he is pleased to give you relief.
I’ve just gone through several years of this, and at the moment God is giving me a breather. (Some breather! I’ve been ill most of the time since Easter, when I seemed to regain a little consciousness of his presence.) I think my confessor is quite tired of my complaints about “not being able to pray.” He just points to my will, which somehow stays on the narrow path because of its hunger for God.
The point is that prayer can be of the mind or of the heart. Prayer of the heart — that is, of the will — is much more powerful, much more lofty. And I have begun to experience just how it comes about in this “walk in the dark” that one becomes aware how the will clings to God no matter how distracted and distraught the mind may be. It’s a new insight, a new “way” of praying.
So have no fear, Angie. You are safe in God’s arms. He himself will guide you.
David

Angie,
You are certainly in my prayers, for I know what you are experiencing. Our Lady will be your lips in your prayers to her. She will comfort you and keep you safe. Trust in Her Son, in all things, trust...
