I've come down with either the common cold or the flu.  Either way, I'm really not feeling well and being away from home right now is kind of a downer.  :(  I'm just realizing how much worse being sick away from home is than simply being sick.  Any prayers would be appreciated.  Thanks.

School brings many strangers together, and the "bugs" get passed around. I'm sure you will find that you are not alone in catching a virus. Still, sickness is not going to help any of you in your schooling. I pray that you and others in your situation not lose strength or determination with regard to your studies.

OH Kayla:

My heart just pained for you.  It is a sad situation the first time being sick away from home.

I just recalled the first time I had gotten sick after leaving home at 18, I cried and told my husband to call my mom.  I was not that far from home either, so I understand, It's hard.

I'm just getting settled in for the night and preparing for evening prayers, I'll add your intentions to my prayers and also add you to tonights rosary.

In the name of the F,S & HS

Our Dear Lord Jesus, Please help Kayla with a speedy recovery and send our blessed Mother to wrap Kayla in her loving arms and keep her comforted at this time of illness.  In the Name of the F,S & HS

Amen

My son left for College today :(.  I know how helpless it feels to not be able to reach him when he's ill also.

God Bless you Hon

Betty

Kayla, you have my prayers tonight and until you let us know you are recovered.  Take care of yourself, get some rest.  Are you sure it's not allergies?  We're having a ragweed problem in our area.  God bless

Betty, that's such a sweet prayer!  I know it will help Kayla just to read it.

Thank you for all the prayers...  My cough is going down, which is good, but I have a fever.  I went to see the doctor at school and they gave me some medicine.  And I passed by my spiritual director on campus today and he told me "Get better!  Remember, Holy obedience, you must obey me!"  So, I think I'll probably be better soon.  ;)  It was funny.

Indeed!  "A joyful heart is good medicine."

Get this bug out of the way and you should be OK for awhile.  At least, that's the pattern I saw with my freshman daughter last year.  Just waiting for the other, now-freshman daughter to get her "college bug."  We're going to go see them tomorrow!!  I'm so excited!

I hope you're on the mend, Kayla!  There's a weekend coming up, will you have any down time then?

On a related note, when I was little we moved a lot.  I never truly felt at home in any place until I was sick.  LOL, I know goofy.  It's like I needed to break the place in or something.  hehehehe

Once again, thanks for all of the prayers.  I'm feeling much better today.  As of now, the fever is gone (thank goodness!) and my cough has gone down.  The only real bummer is that I've lost my voice, but I've heard that is a signal of things getting better, so I'm hoping that's the case!
