Kayla,

I will certainly pray for you this evening.

Lord Jesus, surround Kayla with your love.  Comfort her with an overwhelming sense of Your presence, blessed Lord.  Take the grief that she is bearing and make it into something beautiful for You.  Assure Kayla that your love is ever present and all encompassing, even though her pain and loss may be overwhelming.  In the name of the Blessed Triune God, I pray.  Amen

With love from your sister in Christ,

Darlene

Dear Kayla, to lose a grandmother is to lose something precious.  I hope you will be able to go to her funeral, and I will pray for you and your family.

Thanks for the prayers, they have been helping.  The hardest part is being away from home right now.  My uncles are all now in the midst of arguing about where she will be laid to rest and when the funeral will be.  I am praying that it will be at a time when I can come home (which I already will be coming home in less than two weeks for fall break).

Right now I'm just kind of numb.  I've cried so much that there are no longer tears to be shed.  Just trying to get along with my day to day routine, which isn't very easy.  Grandma and I were close, she lived with me for several years during my childhood.

Dear Kayla, I am so sorry for your loss.  I knew all my grandparents well, and know how special they are.  God bless you and all your family.  I will pray for the repose of the soul of Kayla's grandmother.

Sometime when you feel like it Kayla, would you tell us a favorite story or two about your grandmother?  That helps some people, to remember the good times and tell about them.

Just another update...  I'm doing better.  Still in a rather 'numb' sort of state, where I'm pretty much past all feelings.  Trying to deal with the aftermath/side effects.  (All of the "why" questions...  why now?  Why when I'm alone?  The 'woe is me' and trying not to be hurt by God in all of this.)

I'm also going to be able to go to the funeral, I have found out.  I guess it almost came to blows between my dad and an uncle about waiting a day and a half so that I could come...

At any rate, thanks again for the prayers.  Life is tough right now, but I'm still exisiting, so that's good.

Oh Dear Kayla

I'm so sorry for your loss of a beloved grandmother.

I'll keep you in prayer and also add grandma too.  May she rest in peace and be surronded by the love of the Lord.

Peace of Christ to you hon

Betty

Christ our eternal King and God, You have destroyed death and the devil by Your Cross and have restored man to life by Your Resurrection; give rest, Lord, to the soul of Your handmaiden, Kayla's grandmother, who has fallen asleep, in Your Kingdom, where there is no pain, sorrow or suffering. In Your goodness and love for all men, pardon all the sins she has committed in thought word or deed, for there is no man or woman who lives and sins not, You only are without sin.

For You are the Resurrection, the Life, and Repose of Your handmaiden, departed this life, O Christ our God; and to You do we send up glory with Your Eternal Father and Your All-holy, Good and Life-creating Spirit; both now and forever and to the ages of ages. Amen

Rose, that is a beautiful prayer and very comforting.  Even when we know that our loved ones are in safe hands with God, we miss them so much.  This week especially because of All Saints Day, we are thinking of our dearly departed.  Thanks for the lovely thoughts to help.
