Dear Friends of CHN,

I became a Catholic in 2005, before that I was a Southern Baptist pastor for 18 years.  My wife left last year, moving out on November 4th, 2006.  This was so that she could file for divorce after a year of living apart. Otherwise, she had no grounds in our state for seeking a divorce.  The trouble in our marriage started long before my becoming Catholic, although that pushed it over the edge.  Much of the problem was financial.

Basically, this is a very sad anniversary.  We married in August 1980, so it was a fairly long marriage.  We have two children, ages 16 and 18, so they are almost on their own.

I don't get to go online often, but will treasure your replies, most of all, your prayers.

Monte

We mourn with you, Monte, the death of your marriage. I remember your announcement the day she moved out, and I’ve kept you in my prayers ever since.

Monte,

My heart goes out to you and this anniversary.  My prayers will be with you.  Please remember that God is not done writing the book on your life and with God writing it will have a triumphant ending.  It is through these low times and ocassions that allow room for God to really work in our lives.  I am excited to see what God is up to in your life.  May you always be kept in Him and sheltered in His loving arms.

  Anne

Dear Monte:

I saw this prayer request earlier, but failed to respond.  As you have helped me in the past, I will pray for you today that God may give you grace and strength through the Thanksgiving holiday!  Thank you again for what you have done for me - may God bless you because of it!

Pam

O Lord, You who steadied the hand of Peter as he began to sink on the stormy sea, if you are with Monte, no one can be against him. Grant to Monte the shield of faith and the mighty armor of the Holy Spirit to protect and guide him to do Your will. The future he put into Your hands, O Lord, and follows You to a deeper life in Christ. Amen
