I ask that all of you keep a good friend of mine, Erika, in your prayers this week. Another friend and I have just found out that she's been struggling with cutting herself. She's struggled with this for a long time now, knows that it's wrong, but also at some level doesn't think it's a problem. She said she's tried countless times trying to find other releases, but has yet to find something.
She's agreed to seek help this week and to earnestly try again to overcome this struggle. Pray for her especially tonight, as she will be returning to the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and on Tuesday, when she is scheduled to meet with her psychiatrist.
Also pray for us, her friends, who are trying to be supportive and finding the best solution for her.
Thanks for the prayers.

| My Lord and Savior, You became man and labored with Your hands until the time of Your ministry. Bless Erika with your peace and healing in her life and with her hands, that she may glorify you Jesus. By your grace guide her to seek help, and to stay with it until bringing her healing to completion. Lord, enlighten her mind and strengthen her body by your Word and your Commandments, that she may accomplish this healing according to Your will. Guide her to bring about works of goodness to Your service and glory. Amen. Last edited on Wed Dec 5th, 2007 12:03 am by Pani Rose

| I join Rose in her prayer and am glad that your friend has a good, Christian friend like you through whom God is obviously working to give her support. May God bless you for that! I have learned, over the years, that apparently people who engage in the cutting may have some sort of stress hidden deep away and sometimes only a psychiatrist or other trained mental health professional (preferably a Christian one) can help get to the root of the problem. I have to wonder, as well, if perhaps she might have been abused in some way at some point. May God bless and heal her and grant her peace and may God bless you for being a friend to her! That is so wonderful!

I pray that your friend is doing better.
Lord of the Powers be with us, for in times of distress we have no other help but You.
Lord of the Powers, have mercy on us.
