I ask that everyone continue to pray for my oldest child.  I had written in before asking that you pray for her as she was dating a twice-divorced, neopagan.  Thanks be to God, she broke off that relationship.  Thank you all for your prayers for that.

However, she continues to associate with him.  He is now bringing his friends into her life and she is associating with them.  These are amoral people.  She plays in a band with these people and does not see what associating with them will do to her.

Please pray that God open her eyes to the spiritual and physical dangers that she is exposing herself to if she continues to associate with these people.  Also please pray that I have the words to advise her.  I had been doing some looking on the internet into these people, and she is not aware of what some of them are involved in.

Thank you for your continued prayers, and may God bless you all this Christmastide.

I too will try for your daughter.

Please ask for the intercession of Saint Genesius of Rome and Saint Gregory the Great (both patron Saints for Musicians)

Dear Jesus,

Please be with Marian's daughter and bring her to a place of wisdom in choosing friends, and of discernment. Help Marian to guide her into better and more constructive paths. May your grace and power be evident to this dear daughter.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

Please continue your prayers.

My husband and I spoke with our child over Christmas.  She in turn told everything to the band leader.  She also spoke to her roommate to get her opinion (which is not a Catholic one).

It seems as if the band leader is giving her til Jan. 5 to decide what to do.

We are not pushing, but she has told us that she thinks we are trying to run her life.

She said she is praying about it, but she is not willing to let go of what she wants to do (play in the band).

So please pray that the Holy Spirit convict her heart of the right thing to do, even though doing what is right is not always what we want to do.

Please also pray that she experience the fullness of what Jesus did for her on the cross.  She has forgotten that what it means to die to self.

Thank you all!  God bless!

Lord, we continue to pray that this child will come to her senses. Be with her, dear father in heaven; guide her footsteps. Be with Marian and her husband as they try to lovingly direct their daughter, in order to prevent untold miseries in her life. It is only in following You that we can attain true peace and happiness. Let this precious daughter know that, Lord, by whatever means. In Jesus' name, amen.

Many thanks to all for your continued prayers!  I cannot express how grateful I am to those of you who are praying for someone you do not know whom is so close to me and whom I love very much.

May God bless you all in the New Year!

As a forum member, you are part of our virtual family, and if it's important to you, it is important to us as well.

May God be with her in the new year.

Thanks to all for your continued prayers for our daughter.

I spoke to her earlier today, and she informed me that she plans to keep with the band.  Needless to say, we are heartbroken.

For whatever reason, God, in His wisdom, has chosen for this trial for us to continue.

So, I ask your continued prayers for her and for us, her family.

Thank you to all again.

Dear Marian, I will continue to pray for your daughter.  I had previously listed her on our church's prayer list, I will do so again.  I know the heartbreak of seeing your child make seriously wrong decisions, and as parents of grown children, we are nearly helpless except to pray, and find the right opportunity to put in a seed of thought here and there.  God bless and I pray for strength for you and your husband to continue loving and helping your daughter through this troubled time.

Thank you so much!  If anyone else has any prayer lists they can add her to, that would be very much appreciated.  Her initials are ACL.

God bless to all!

Lord Jesus Christ, my God, You have said, "Apart from me You can do nothing." In faith I embrace Your words, Lord, and we entreat Your goodness. Help cathmom to carry out the work you began in her child, and to bring it to completion, bring ACL safely home. To You we give glory, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

Thank you very much, Rose.  Keep prayin'!  She's still involved with the band.  Looks like we're in it for the long haul.

Marian, I've never been a parent, unfortunately, and really can't relate to parents, but I know that a mother is the one who feels the greatest hurt when one of her own goes astray.  I can't remember where I heard it, but because you carried your daughter in your womb, a very real part of you goes whereever she goes.  There is an invisible bond that only a mother can feel for her children.   A man cannot even come close to how a mother feels about her children.

So I pray, that through your pain and suffering for your child, she will soon return to her Lord and leave those that tear her down.  I will hold  you in my prayers.

Rich

Christ, the true light, who enlightens and sanctifies every person coming into the world, let the light of Your countenance shine upon her that she may see Your unapproachable light; and guide her steps in the way of Your commandments, through the intercessions of Your all-holy Mother and of all the Saints. Amen.
