Hi everyone! I know I'm new here, but I feel this is a great group of believers who will pray if asked.

Early tomorrow morning, my hubby will have surgery to repair a deviated septum. He's so looking forward to the relief he'll get once he recovers! Poor guy has been blowing his nose to beat the band, but not getting much relief.

So please keep him in your prayers. His name is Robert. Surgery is probably 9:30ish.

Thanks so much!

I pray for Robert, that God will bless and watch over both Robert and you and  grant  Robert quick healing. If it is of any help, back when I was in college, working in a hospital caring for patients and in years since then, I have known of that surgery to be very safe and to provide a lot of relief for people.  I hope and pray that it will likewise provide your husband with the relief he needs!  Also, if he snores, it may lessen that as well.  May God bless you two!

Thank you, Marshall. God bless you! His doctor does this surgery all the time, so I imagine it's a piece of cake for him. But it being MY husband, of course, I worry. :P

Thanks again!

Kim, I like your new avatar; but I must admit I always enjoyed seeing your photo. With your shades, denim jacket, and sly smile, you seemed a snazzy, snappy Southerner.

It's nice having you here on the forum.

I've also found that the people on this forum are very faithful prayer warriors.  I don't think I could've gotten through the things I did without God's grace and their prayers!

It has always comforted me to think back and know that the people here said they would pray and they did.

Let us know the outcome!

God bless you and Robert!

*********UPDATE********

Thanks to all of you for your prayers! Robert's surgery went without a hitch. His doctor and nurses were superb. It was a really good experience all around. I could feel your prayers! Thanks again!

Then when we got home from the surgery, our teenage son who was to hold down the fort for us (we home school) was running a fever of 102 and wasn't feeling too well. Ah, such is life.

Care to keep on praying for us? We sure could use them!

As an aside, the only unpleasant thing out of the whole experience was having to listen to a man in the waiting room who literally used the "d" word in EVERY sentence. I kid you not. I kept note! lol

As another aside, I brought a book with me to while away the hours which I would highly recommend: Left to Tell by Immaculee Ilibagiza. A powerful story about how she survived the Rwanda Holocaust only by God's help. I first heard of Immaculee when I ran across a video interview of her on YouTube while looking for something else. It convinced me to get the book.

Here's part 1 of the interview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vR8TasFOca0&feature=related

Here's part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOnnGkW1u9c&feature=related

She's Roman Catholic, btw.

Thanks again for your prayers! I feel enveloped in love here. :) Becky, I changed my avatar back just for you!

Kim, glad to get that good report on the surgery. I'll continue to pray for Robert and for your son (and that the rest of you don't catch the bug!). It's good to see your former avatar back. :)

Mark, I love your new avatar. I still rejoice every time I see it.

Becky

Thank you, Becky! :) I'd hate especially for my recovering hubby to get sick on top of things! Or that his nurse ;) were to be rendered out of commission!

Mark, my hubby had long hair when I met him. I loved it. He's a musician like you. He plays bass guitar and has a big collection of old combo organs *big groan on my part because of the storage issue*. See his obsession (heh heh) here:

http://www.combo-organ.com

The band he was in when I met him did the Doors tunes, as well as many other 60's/70's songs. Since you shared a pic, I will, too. This one is of us on our wedding day, just heading out for our honeymoon. I was smitten! Still am. ;)

He's one cool dude!

What a beautiful young couple!

A woman can bear almost anything when she has a good marriage with a man she adores. I, too, was blessed in that way. :)

Thanks Becky! Ah, we were so young.

When I met Robert, he was a musician, but had a good day job. I'm sure my parents, at first, wondered what I had drug home! They love him to pieces now. He truly is a gift from God. I could not imagine a more wonderful mate for myself. He helped me make some beautiful children, too. :)

Re: the combo-organ collection, bless you dear child, Kim!  You are a dear to put up with that!  I truly believe men never grow up when it comes to toys.  If its not boats or fishing gear or golf clubs or vintage cars then its combo-organs!

Mark, he says a Vox is a combo organ. He says that the Doors used a Vox at first, but later went with a Gibson. He's not speaking my language, but I'll assume he's speaking yours. ;) If combo organs interest you, he runs a Yahoo group on the subject. It's a lively group!

Rich, thanks!! Today is a better day for both of my guys. Robert can now breathe through his nose (the doctor said only mouth-breathing the first 24 hours) and he is finally feeling like himself again. Our son, Stephen is feeling better today. He's got a sore throat, but the fever seems to have disappeared.

Thanks again to everyone! I know your prayers were effective! God bless you all REAL good!

Ray went to the Gibson Kalamazoo because the Vox didn't hold up on tours, I like the sound of the Vox better though. Don't know anything about the concept of "combo organ".....I'm just a singer in a rock-n-roll band! :dude:

BTW, does he have a Fender/Rhodes Bass or Rhodes piano?

No, he says they're too pricey for him to consider one. He plays a Rickenbacker and an Epiphone. He's not doing any Doors stuff now.
