I will offer something personal when time allows, for now I thought Ambrose's obituary would do.
Ambrose R. Rodgers, 2, of Zanesville, died at 6:00 AM Sunday March 2, at home with mum and dad at his side. Ambrose was born with two genetic conditions and lived beyond expectations.
He was born at home February 6, 2006 the son of Robert F. and Bernadette R. Horn Rodgers. Ambrose was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing with his toys while listening to Johnny Cash music. Ambrose loved playing with his sister and being with his loving family. He was an eye tissue donor so he could help another child’s vision.
Ambrose is survived by his parents, sister: Josephine “Jo Jo”, brother: Augustine “Augie” both of the home, paternal grandfather: Robert J. and the late Sally Rodgers of Canada, maternal grandparents: Ronald and Maria Horn of Mc Connelsville, maternal great grandfathers: William Horn and Tom Siemer both of Columbus, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and nurses who cared so lovingly for him.
Preceding him in death were his paternal grandmother, maternal great grandmothers: Nahama Horn and Dorothy Siemer, paternal great grandparents: Frank and Winifred Macklem.
Calling hours for Ambrose will be 4:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday March 5, 2008 at Bryan & Snider Funeral Home 2318 Maple Ave.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM Thursday March 6, 2008 at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Rev. Father Emmanuel Bertrand and Rev. Father Ignatius Harrington officiating with committal service to follow at St. Mary’s Mattingly Settlement Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Ambrose’s memory may be made to: School Study Council of Ohio, 2080 Citygate Dr, Columbus, OH 43219.

St, Ambrose will protect him, Rob, and present him to God's loving arms along with his grand and great grandparents, and one day he will welcome you and his mother and siblings to God's loving embrace.
"Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted." We mourn with you. May God's peace come to you with the assurance that this innocent child is resting today in his Blessed Mother's loving arms.
May our loving Savior who wept at the tomb of his friend Lazarus bring you his Divine Mercy. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help.

Eternal rest grant unto this precious child, O Lord, and let Perpetual Light shine on all those who are blessed to experience eternal reward without having to undergo the trials of this life. May their souls, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the Mercy of God, rest in peace.
Rob, I am so sorry for your loss. I am sure there will be many prayers carried upward to heaven alongside this little child. God bless you and your family.

I remember when Ambrose was born, Rob, and how happy you were. The fact that he lived beyond expectations shows what loving and capable parents you and Bernadette were.
We should rejoice, too, that Ambrose was born into a solid Christian home, and so received the necessary sacraments to assure his salvation — remembering that since he died long before reaching the age of reason, he could not have sinned mortally.
Nevertheless, I have prayed for Ambrose and for his grieving parents, that they may find peace, for the parting of loved ones is never easy. May God receive his soul to the greater divine glory and comfort those whom he has left behind.
David

| O Lord who watches over children in the present life and in the world to come because of their simplicity and innocence of mind, abundantly satisfying them with a place in Abraham's bosom, bringing them to live in radiantly shining places where the spirits of the righteous dwell: receive in peace the soul of Your little servant Ambrose, for You Yourself have said, "Let the little children come to Me, for such is the Kingdom of Heaven." Amen.
