Please pray for Kate. She is a 4th grader and friend of the family who is staying with us for a few days while her mother is on business travel. Her mother is divorcing her abusive father and the family is going through some really hard times. As I tucked her in tonight, I saw that she was reading some Christian tracts we had in the guest bedroom and so I asked her if she believed in God. She said yes, and told me that last night she prayed for a sign and when she woke up in the middle of the night, a light was on just outside her bedroom. I didn’t have the heart to tell her that I turned it on for her so she could find her way to the bathroom (looking back now I’m glad I didn’t – it WAS a sign and I had the awesome privilege of being the messenger!!!!!) I asked her if it was hard to believe in God when so many bad things are happening right now. She said yes and I told her that sometimes God allows us to go through things like this so we will talk to him more and learn to trust in him more. Her mother is a non-practicing Jew so I began telling her how much God loves her, trying to be sensitive to her mother possibly not wanting me to talk to her daughter about Jesus. So instead I taught her what we believed as Christians, mostly how what we believe is what the Jews are still waiting for. I told her that we believe God loves us so much that he came down from heaven to live with us, and that he died so we could go to heaven. I asked her if she celebrated Easter and what she thought it was all about. I explained that it really wasn’t about the Easter bunny but about how Jesus rose from death so that we could have new life and live forever with God in heaven. She even asked me if we will see God in heaven. She was intently listening the whole time!!!! (and I’m not a real exciting person to listen too!!!!). Please pray for the healing of her family and that the seeds that God planted tonight will bring forth abundant fruit in Kate and her family.

Christ, the true light, who enlightens and sanctifies every person coming into the world, let the light of Your countenance shine upon Kate that she may see Your unapproachable light; and guide her steps in the way of Your commandments, through the intercessions of Your all-holy Mother and of all the Saints.
Almighty God, our Help and Refuge, who knows that we can do nothing right without Your guidance and help; direct Bill by Your wisdom and power through your Holy Spirit, that he may accomplish this task at hand, and in whatever he does according to Your divine will, so that it may be beneficial to Kate and mother, for Jesus your Word says a little child shall lead them. Jesus bring them into the fullness of your truth, grant a hunger to Kate that cannot be satisfied until she finds rest in you. We give praise, thanksgiving, and adoration Sweet Jesus to you, in the glory of Your holy Name. Amen Amen.

Hope things are better for her.
Continued healing for them all...
Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.
