"I had no more idea of becoming a Catholic than of becoming a cannibal. I imagined that I was merely pointing out that justice should be done even to cannibals . . . [but] it is impossible to be just to the Catholic Church. The moment men cease to pull against it they feel a tug towards it. The moment they cease to shout it down they begin to listen to it with pleasure. The moment they try to be fair to it they begin to be fond of it . . . " GK Chesterton

I'm sure many of us can relate to this quote but when you watch it start to happen with a close friend it is hard not to get all giddy and over-zealous.

Please pray for us and pray for our friend.  Our request is that we would be gentle and encouraging, keeping in mind that no matter where the journey takes him that he is and always will be a friend and not another "project for evangelization."

Please pray for him that nothing would hinder this journey and that his mind would be receptive to the fullness of truth found in the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.

Thank you and Blessings,
Deborah and Russ

You know because you have passed that way yourselves. This keeps it in perspective. The truth either attracts or repels, depending on our own attitude. When you stop kicking against the goad, it becomes a caress.

To me, the CHN Forum is much more about prayer than providing answers. Everyone needs the prayers of others, just to begin to listen. I believe that God is almighty. I believe he hears and answers all prayer. I believe that your friend will find the truth he seeks.

David

Hi D & R,

<<<I had no more idea of becoming a Catholic than of becoming a cannibal. >>>

Me too! All I did was buy and read the book "Why Do Catholics Do That?" and here I am; member of the RCC, member of the RCIA team, Eucharistic Minister, and if I understand Father correctly, more jobs are on the way. In the future, I am going to be VERY CAREFUL what I pick up and read!!! :)
