A general prayer request for all who have a knot in their stomach about telling others about their journey, but may I request a specific prayer for me to tell my friend, Bonnie. We've been friends for over 15 years and she's watched our family go from evangelical to Messianic Judaism to home churching to Lutheran. She's Baptist and I know she's pretty anti-Catholic. Today when I spoke to her she said she'd once visited this Catholic retreat grounds with her Catholic MIL and that it was beautiful even though it had "the Stations of the Cross and all that Catholic stuff." But we visit on a weekly basis and I'm 4O days away from entering the Church and I still haven't worked up the nerve to tell her! I'm fearful of her response and of my own defensiveness rising to the top when I do.
Lord, I pray for all those who are holding their journey within but who need to have it come out, for a peaceful, controlled boldness, without fear. Amen.
Jill

See if you can get her to walk the stations with her, and explain what they are as you pass them. Get a Way of the Cross booklet that contains the scripture verses explaining each of the stations. At the end, ask her if she found anything objectionable about walking the path Jesus walked, and then sit her down and tell her you'll be joining Jesus on the walk this Lent, ending with your entry into the Church He founded.
