| I was a nominal Catholic until "baptized in the spirit" during the charismatic renewal years. Interestingly though, that experience led me away from the Church into the the "Non-Denominational" arena where they were really "with it". Speaking in tongues, raised hands, good preaching, bible study etc. etc. Finally tiring of Wed. night bible studies and being hounded to tithe 10 percent, I drifted to the Antiochian Eastern Orthodox. Beatiful litergies, but they lasted between two & three hours, all the time standing. My wife was'nt going for that , so I eventually came home to where I started, but luke warm and just going through the motions. Then I started watching EWTN and the CH show on Monday night. It finally dawned on me that after all that searching, I had been home in the first place, so here I am. Back where I started from. Still learning about our wonderful faith. A lifetime process I'm discovering. So much to learn, but thank God for CH and EWTN. What a wonderful ministry.

Great to hear that you have found what you are looking for. Have you considered going to a Byzantine Cathlic Church once in a while? The standing is optional where I go (well to satnd the whole time, there is s till a lot of standing for those who sit), but still recommended.

Did you click the heels of your ruby red shoes together while repeating "There's no place like home"?
Seriously it is great to have you with us. I figure anyone with a username like "Flinstone" must have a sense of humor! Sort of like people who use frogs as their avatars.

Hi Rick, I'm new here and am thinking maybe you should change your signature line to: "It isn't easy being green!"

I've thought about it, Brenda, but it's such a great quote. So many believe they need to understand everything before accepting, but St. Augustine teaches us that understanding begins with acceptance!
