I ran across this list on wikipedia.
Contains some folks I knew had converted - John Wayne, Oscar Wilde, Laura Ingraham; some I did not Cherry Boone daughter of Pat Boone, Jeb (John) Bush - brother of President Bush, Vincent Price.

A very interesting list. I note the presence of Bobby Jindal, congressman from Louisiana's first district and candidate for governor. I knew about his conversion from Buddhism. He is quite brilliant, and his conversion story reads like a doctoral thesis. He gave his witness at a Knights of Columbus convention a few years ago.
There were a few surprises, but only one error I'm sure of. Anne Rice is listed as a convert, when in fact she is a revert. Her faith history is included in the paperback edition of Christ the Lord, Out of Egypt, and, based on her own statement, she left the Church at the age of 18.

Something that I confirmed as I perused the convert list is that the American Wild West of the 19th century was not, as almost universally depicted, pure Protestant. Several names stood out: Kit Carson, Doc Holliday, Buffalo Bill Cody.

| Tony Blair attends a catholic church regularly and speculation is that he will convert when he ceases to be Prime Minister. It is said that he has been receiving spiritual guidance from a priest with that in mind. His wife is cathoic. Currently a Catholic can not be prime minister of the UK. I think this is still the case and may be why he has not taken it further.

The priest working with Blair has his work cut out given Blair's recent support of various bills the Church strongly opposes, beginning with the recent adoption-related legislation. I realize Blair's party is more than just a tad bit left o' center, but he could've recused himself.
Hate to see yet another pol become like the speaker of the Mass legislature, a Catholic who lists his Knights of Columbus membership on his official state legislator's website -- who fought tooth and nail to keep a ballot petition reversing the infamous State Sup. Ct's approval of "gay marriage" off the state ballot.
On the other hand, Blair has been the US' only friend when it comes to the war against the Wahabhi terrorists.
Hope Blair sees the light when it comes to social justice legislation or he could be facing a lengthy period before admittance.
