Marian, it looks like we all need to brush up on St. Edith Stein.  I have heard of her story but never read a biography.  If you find one let us know!

I will let you know if I find one.

This is the second list I've posted to and gotten no suggestions.  :(

Dear Marian,

I came across some books by and about Edith Stein while I was on retreat this year down at Mepkin Abbey in South Carolina.  What struck me was the depth of her learning and intelligence. It always pleases me to point to people who are so accomplished as academics, and yet are so drawn to a life of faith!

One book that first caught my eye was I think, "The Science of the Cross." (that's a link to Amazon.com.  I often advise folks to ask your local Catholic bookstore if they can get books for you, as they desperately need our business)

Also from Amazon.com: The Hidden Life, Essays, spiritual texts

Here is a page from EWTN: http://www.ewtn.com/faith/edith_stein.htm

EWTN would also be a place to maybe order her books.

Here are a couple of links from a Google search:

A Bibliography and biography link page:

Texts available online:
