Does anyone know of radio stations that have a mix of music, talk etc. that are CATHOLIC? we have a Christian radioa station locally and I enjoy the music and someo fo the talkshows and or news but  someimtes thier talk shows or Bible studies are too protestant and they give little digs now and then that are anti Catholic.

Hi Kim. I don't know of anything in Arizona. Immaculate Radio is the closet thing to you but that is in New Mexico. I saw KXXT in Phoenix, but it may be the station you were referring to.
If you have access to Sirius you can listen to EWTN on it. I listened a lot on the internet until the new San Francisco station opened up.
Catholic Exchange lists a number of stations that look pretty good that you can pick up on short wave or the internet. You can see them at http://www.catholicexchange.com/TV_and_Radio.

Keep praying and even become a member of Immaculate Heart Radio since they cover Southwest States. You could become a member of their team and solicit dioceses in your area to support a station opening up in your area. If a station came up for sale, you could help build support to begin one.
God bless and may he start something in your area.
Rich

Hi, Kim,

Sirius Satellite has The Catholic Channel.  I think it's Channel 158....you can sample it on the web at http://www.sirius.com.  They just merged with XM and they have EWTN and the Catholic Channel.  I enjoy some of the talent on that station.  They have a lot of talk, comedy, some music and all with Catholicism in mind.  The Archdiocese of New York started it I believe.

I enjoy the Koenig's.  He is a four or five time Emmy award winner and his wife, Susan is a hoot. David is a very funny comedian and is a convert from Judaism.   They are raising four children in the Long Island area and she is a very good writer.  She writes for Catholic Digest and has written a few books like "I am the One Who Wears the Maternity Pants in This Family!"  She has been compared to Erma Bombeck.  Check out their programming scedule on the Sirius Satellite website.I hope that helps!!!:waving:

Hi Kim,

There are all sorts of options for Catholic radio on the Internet, and audio files of past shows. We're in the Golden Age of Communication!

Ave Maria Radio in Ann Arbor, MI, offers good Catholic programming all day, including Kresta in the Afternoon, hosted by my good friend Al Kresta (whom I consider the best talk show host, bar none). It would come on at 1 or 2 PM your time. Ave Maria offers live streaming of all its programs.

Sacred Heart Radio out of Cincinnati offers the same.

Ditto for Spirit Catholic Radio from Omaha.

I'm sure there must be others also (Google "Catholic radio"). I've been interviewed on all three of these stations, so I personally knew about them.

Relevant Radio out of Green Bay, Wisconson has local stations around the country but also can be listened to on the web. It has some excellent programing throughout the day and is very orthodox.

This their link:

EWTN Radio is available online.  Go to http://www.ewtn.com/ and click on Radio, choose Listen Live, and then your language and preferred media player.

We have an excellent radio station in the Portland metro area that you can listen to on the web:  http://www.kbvm.fm  (BVM for Blessed Virgin Mary).  I believe it was the very first listener-supported Catholic radio station in the US!
