At one of you guys' recommendation, my husband and I are reading Prayer Primer by Dubay. He recommends also reading Explanation fo the Method of Mental Prayer by St. Jean Baptiste de la Salle(who also happens to be my patron saint). I found one short book on education which I ordered(and for only 11 cents too!) but have not been able to find the one on prayer. I can't afford to spend a fortune on it, maybe $10-$15. I have tried all my usual cheap book sources-half.com, amazon.com, barnes&noble.com, alibris.com I found commentaries on the book but not the book itself. Anybody have any sources for the de la Salle book? and if the original book was in French, that is OK, I can read French.

I didn't find the particular book you are asking about, but Tan Books offers many otherwise out of print books at very reasonable prices.  If you check with their customer service they might well have a few copies around that are not in their catalogue, or they might be aware of a source.

I’ve found it on line for you, Becky. Just click here and read. The site also has several other works by the saint referenced here.
