I accept the teaching that Jesus is somehow entirely human and entirely divine, but it seems impossible (of course with God all is possible i suppose). but i would think being entirely human would imply certain limitations that would make it impossible to be fully man, or that being fully God would have so many positive attributes that would make it impossible to be fully man. how exactly is the best way to understand this?

What we know from revelation about the incarnation and the hypostatic union is summarized in the Catechism, §464–483.

I know this is “too brief,” but we are speaking here of divine mysteries. Sometimes a theological analysis helps, although it can never resolve all the issues. You might try Garrigou-Lagrange’s book, Our Savior and His Love for Us.
