Whenever I sit down to study the Bible, I invariably run into something that confuses me.  Is there a book that I can keep nearby that will help me understand the correct meaning behind a particular chapter or verse?   I am a full-time caregiver and my time outside the house is very limited (I rarely leave the house for more than 30 minutes) - so I am pretty much on my own when it comes to Bible study.

There are tons of books that can help you understand Scripture.  You can go to your local Catholic bookstore and ask for one they may suggest.

As for me, I like books that explain Catholic doctrine and where it is in Scripture:

Catholic for a Reason: Scripture and the Mystery of the Family of God

There are two other Catholic for a reason books, II and III

Where is That in the Bibie?

Free online bible study course Led by Scott Hahn

I hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Juan

Thanks, Juan, I'll check them all out.  The free online Bible Study with Scott Hahn looks great.
