I'm resurrecting this string because I have a question.  A couple of weeks ago I mentioned I was going to be teaching a class.  Due to a scheduling conflict, I have been rescheduled to the Sunday after Easter.  I'm going to do a study on Isaiah 40.  In that chapter is a prophecy that the church has taught is a reference to John the Baptist.  I plan to make the link in my study, but I've also read recently there is also a link in the Judaic tradition in the Passover Sedar.  I believe it's the serving of the fourth cup during the meal.  Does anyone have any background material or understanding on this possible "prophetic" look of John the Baptist?  I'd appreciate it very much if anyone can come up with anything to add to my study.

Thanks

Rich
