You all are so very blessed to have a long history filled with rich traditions. I have posted previously this morning about my journey, and the churches I have been part of, although fine in their own understandings, had no traditions and little history. As I see it now, this is very sad ....

Abby, those of us who are cradle Catholics (and there aren't that many around here) do indeed feel blessed. Many who have joined the Church as adults come to realize the depth of history and tradition, and that is what attracts many. We also have a unity of faith and belief with over a billion other Catholics all around the world that no other faith community can claim.
It is indeed a wonderful thing. Welcome to the forum. We're glad to have you here with us.

| Ditto on the welcome! Don't look back and regret too much, Abby. Now that you know what you know, you can move forward and partake of this great Christian Tradition. Life is a constant process of learning new things and making discoveries, for all of us.

But you know what? Coming from where I did, I am constantly reminded to not take things for granted IRT where I am now. I love jumping in with both feet and taking advantage of the traditions the Church can offer me now. My own history makes me appriciate more where I am now than had I been born into it, I think.
