I have traveled to 5 countries with Rome being the last city I visited.  Before I get into my trip, you all should know the world really is a Catholic world.  every country I visited, for example, Croatia, there was a church every 2 feet just like Italy.  Dubrovnik, Croatia is very Holy.  their patron saint is Saint Blase.  I received communion there as well.  they do not take communion in the hands...there was a picture of Christ in almost every window...beautiful scenery as well.
Next port was Barcelona, spain.  T he Blessed Mother is everywhere.  went to the Goudi cathedral..beautiful.  Next was Cannes, France.  when we pulled in, there was a cross on top of a hill.  Very wealthy, not for me...next was Sicily.  The Blessed Mother greeted the ships in port.  It was a huge statue above the waters...very moving.  Churches dating back to the 13th century.  Then Venice, Naples and Livorno.  All beautiful churches.  Now Rome.
When we got to our hotel, there was a fax waiting for me from the Vatican.  2 months ago I wrote The Holy Father and told him of my awakening and my experience with God.  I told him where and when I'd be in Italy.  The fax said I would have an audience with the Pope.  I almost died.  We went and got blessed by the Pope.  We just had special seats to be close to him.  He was about 100 feet away.  I also went to Mass at the Vatican..beautiful..very surreal, the singing was beautiful and i was very emotional.  Went down to the underground and knelt at John Paul's tomb and the tomb of St. Peter.  Just my friend and I and the guide.  Very emotional.
Went to the Coloseum, The Chains of St. Peter was amazing.  Michaelangelo's Moses was breathtaking.  The sistine chapel was breathtaking.  I was sitting on these steps of a church that wasn't open while my friend was taking pics of the Roman ruins.  When I happen to look over and started reading this sign in Italian which read "Prison of apostles Peter and Paul", only in Italian in which I could make out.  I couldn't believe it.  We went in and it was like a cave with a tiny alter.  Also very emotional.
Bottom line is the world is very Catholic, only the Muslims trail behind.  I was even taken aback how Catholic everything was.  I thank God for this wonderful trip.

A trip like that is a dream come true.  Being that close to Benedict XVI, and being blessed by him, it's a true pilgrimage.  You've been blessed big time!

Stefany!!!

What a blessing!!! Thank you for sharing! Do you have any pictures you could share? I would LOVE to see it! How did it go with the person you were with? I know that in itself was an answer to prayer!

We took 788 pictures!!  I am not good with computers, so I don't know how to do that with the pictures...I will find someone who will help me.  In my other post somewhere, I told you how I prayed for 3 years to let me go to Rome to see the heart of my faith.  I had no money and had no idea how to go.  Then I met someone, long story short, that too was a blessing, to meet someone.  Anyway, this man asked me to go on a Mediterranean cruise and ending in Rome for 5 days.  Actually, this man is my boyfriend and now my fiance.  I never dreamed it would come true.  I didn't need to take 20 cents with me.  He paid for everything.  This is why my prayers were answered.  My boyfriend, future husband has congestive heart failure, and I think God sent him to me to take care of in return for my trip.  I honestly feel this.
I really can't figure out how I was able to go after praying for this.  God works in mysterious ways.
I can't believe Benedict XVI was 10 rows in front of me as he was riding in the little car Blessing everyone.  Most of all, I can't believe the priviledge I had of being in those tombs alone, the honor of receiving Mass at the Vatican...now being home I lie in bed trying to figure out how and why I was sent there...
pretty fascinating.  Oh, The Pantheon was also amazing.  Seeing the chains of St. Peter was pretty emotional for me as well as being in the cave that was their prison...Peter and Paul.
I will gladly answer any questions about my amazing trip as well as the beautiful Vatican.

788 pictures!?!?!  LOL  What a great way to remember your trip.  I don't know what I'd do without my digital camera.  But I'm the type to just download them and not do anything else after that.  And of course all our pre-digital pictures are just sitting upstairs in a box ;)

Congrats on your engagement as well.  It sounds like God is really full in your life right now.  Oh, and we will expect to see pictures of the wedding, too!
