Hi Everyone!
I've been having a really stressful time lately with a lot of stuff in my marriage, etc., as some of you may know from my post in the marriage forum, and some other personal issues to deal with lately as well. Well just a couple days ago, I was home alone praying to God with all my heart, telling Him all my woes, specifically asking Him to show me a sign if He hears me, and asking Him what to do? To please give me a sign if He's there, etc., and hears me, (you know that prayer of desperation), and to send me "something" to guide me, anything.
Well, that day, I went out for a walk, went into our local thrift shop to browse around, and as soon as I walked in, on the counter was a Blessed Mother Statute, just staring at me, with a price tag of $5.00 on it.
(This was the last hardship for me to overcome somewhat being a recent new Catholic--I've prayed to God to help me understand Her)......
So, of course I brought her Home that day, and here she sits, anew in my life, guiding me, directing me, as if sent by her Son Jesus in heaven to be MY Mother, for all time.
Thanks be to God. God did send me a sign!!!! Jesus, I Trust in You. You are so awesome!!!! I do believe Mary is becoming a very special part of my journey of Faith starting now!!!
I hope you all will discover Her too!!!
P.S. This is the same beautiful 16 inch expensive statute I saw in a Catholic Church bookstore, that I was tempted to buy at one time in the past few years, but wasn't ready to yet. WoW! Guess God knows now I'm ready!!! There's such fullness and joy at every turn being a Catholic!!!

| Connie, I enjoyed reading your story about the Blessed Mother statue. Isn't it amazing how things like that can happen? I have difficulty sometimes too, wondering if I am loving her too much, putting too much into my relationship with her and not enough in her Son. But she never fails to move me in some way when I go to her, I always feel she is watching over me. God bless you in your new journey!

| I just looked at some of the flylady link and it looks like fun. Have you been doing the steps? Is it faith related? I couldn't tell from what I saw. Thanks for sharing it, it says go to bed at a decent hour, so that's what I'm doing now!

I'm so thankful that our Lord sent you a personal sign. It is very hard to begin a relationship with our Lady, when we've been taught in the past that it is very wrong. It's just foreign to us.
Your not alone with being hesitant about our lady for a time. It's beautiful how he just gave you his mother like that, and settled your mind and heart. Thank you for sharing. I've been praying for you the last couple of days and I hope things get better.

Thank you kim for the link, I have gotten myself in an organizational disaster with my home and out side functions. I looked over the web-site you so kindly added and I think I'll be trying to incorporate some of their idea's in life.
God Bless
Betty

Hi Betty and everyone!
What is so neat too, is lately for a couple years now, I have been feeling slightly hurt by my own mother, distant, etc., and have brought my feelings to the Lord. Well, wouldn't you know, HE already knows our deepest longings----this is why, I think, all the more reason why He chose to answer me and give me the sign I so sought, in bringing His Mother to me in this way, at this time. It's just unbelievable!
Thanks for your message to me Betty.
And Welcome "Home" yourself!!!! Where we can rest assured forever, in Jesus and His Church, no more wanderings from denomination to denomination.

How interesting! My own relationship with Our Lady, was at a time that my own mother & MIL, My husband & I were all having a difficult time, and my husband & I were resentful with both our mothers. That's when I began my own relationship with our lady. Our Lord Jesus is so wonderful and does know all that we need. How kind it was that he would share his mother with us all.
"Praise you Lord Jesus and thankyou for your mother"
Thank You again for sharing your gift with us.
God Bless
Betty
