I was given his question to answer. Thought I would post it in case it helps anyone else. I knw it has been answered in the past and I have seen answers, but I need to be reminded. The answer I gave was that all prayer flows first through God even if we are addressing the saints. But tehy can pray for us because we are a a body and we all are always praying for one another and all we do effects one another. The saints are not omnipresnet, but God is able to make them aware of what they need ot be aware of to pray for us, if that be His will. I guess my question would then be, why does it make sense that God initially hears our prayer to ask someone else to pray for us and yet still asks them to pray for us? Seems like me asking my mom to ask if my sister can ask a favor for me. But I think the gfact that God knows all means that even before we speak a request or ask a friend on eartg to pray for us, the grace is still flowing through Him. Also, it is probably true that it gives God joy for us to carry one anothers burdens and share in Jesus' redemptive work. Are there any better anwers to my questions and the following question. I also decided that this question can not be answered witout adressing the issue of all our beliefs needing to be explicitly taught in scripture and the danger of living by the authority of the bible alone, and that nothing in the bible disproves this. I said other things too. I will summarize to avoid using original letter.

see nothing in Scripture that tells us to ask saints to pray for us....Bible silent on what believer is doing after death... Can they hear us and know we exist?... that means they are omnipresent and omniscient and only God has those qualities? story in Revelation martyred saints asking for justice... don't know if it is for their own or the persecution of others...

I remember when you were the one asking these questions, Brian. You’ve come a long way. Maybe that’s why you think you don’t remember the answers. But you do, really.

Why does it make sense that God initially hears our prayer to ask someone else to pray for us and yet still asks them to pray for us?
Charity and unity. See Psalm 133.

David
