I'm not sure if this is the correct forum, but I have a question about extroidinary ministers.
There is a young lady in our church who has recently become an EM. I believe she dresses inappropiately for mass--most especially to distribute communion. She's probably 19 or 20 and dresses like many girls her age--skin tight blue jeans and shrunken T-shirts. Yes, this is the way she dresses to perform her duties! My opinion is that she is attired immodestly. (I sound too old, don't I?)
My question is-- should I bring this to the pastor's attention? Surely he has noticed! I feel I should say something. I'm almost embarrassed for the poor girl every Sunday! I don't know the girl or her family so I would feel awkward speaking to her, yet I'd feel like a tattle running to the priest. I just wonder if he is waiting for a comment from the pew.

In my opinion, you should certainly comment on the dress code of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, and any others in altar ministry who dress inappropriately.
In my parish, men are required to wear a coat and tie, and women are required to wear dresses or skirts. A woman in a nice pants outfit will be permitted to fill in if necessary, but jeans are never permitted. I admit this is an extreme, but our pastor is afraid if he gives them an inch, they'll take a mile, and pretty soon we'll have jeans, too.
The following is from the guidelines for Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion approved by the USCCB:
All ministers of Holy Communion should show the greatest reverence for the Most Holy Eucharist by their demeanor, their attire, and the manner in which they handle the consecrated bread or wine.
(Bold emphasis added.) Feel free to print these guidelines for your pastor's benefit. However, you should approach him respectfully and accept his judgment.
