IRT this decree of nullity.  I had to call our diocese again last week.  She called me back and told me they were still waiting on once signature from the judge.  WTHeck is up with that?  But since a uninamous decision is two signatures, she would go ahead and prepare the decree.  Which I thought was pretty darn nice of her.

We got it on Wednesday.  It has a prohibition that the pastor who marries us needs to get permission from the Tribunal.  (I'm a bit worried now as to what is involved with that, and how long that will take).  I approached Father after Mass on Friday.  I didn't get one straight answer out of him, other than once I'm in the church confession is during Advent and Lent.  (Duh!)  and that we need to get together "probably the week after next" to go over this stuff.  So I went home and left a message for him to call me so we can set that #%&# appointment up.  He didn't return my call, nor did he mention it to either one of us at Mass on Sunday.

I have calmed down some about it now, but come on!  I am beyond impatient by now!  LOL

He also said that I we can do all my stuff all on one Sunday.  But didn't offer any idea when that might happen ??????  I gather we'll discuss that as well at our little meeting.

Is there a reason why I could not come into the church before our marriage is blessed?  Would I be committing adultry or something, I don't know, I'm grasping here.

Prayers and hugs welcome.

Thanks,
Ali

Singly,

I too have no idea, but I paused and prayed for your intentions and asked the Lord to finally receive you into his church.

I'm sure that your nearly ready to pull your hair out, as the anticipation winds down and it's so close now.

God Bless! Your nearly to the finish line:cool:

Betty

I guess you're thinking they've moved the finish line a few times!  You should get a few extra graces for being so diligent and not giving up.  Many people would say, what the heck, I'll go someplace else.  But when you are accepted into the Catholic Church, you know everything is in order, all the "t's" are crossed and the "i's" dotted, and you belong.  Congratulations!

~~~~~ UPDATE ~~~~~~
Finally we met with Father last night.  We spoke breifly about questions he answered for us about family life (we have one) and understanding the marriage vows (he said obviously we do, we've already been married 13 years).
The he gave us a 300 questions bubble test, lol.  Some of them were so goofy, like #126 Do you feel someone is trying to poison you?  Dh met me there (I had an earlier meeting) and he ate dinner by himself, I asked him how he was feeling. {laughs evilly}  That questionaire, which I'm guessing any couple wishing to be married has to fill out, needs to be sent in and "approved".  Father has already received permission for the prohibition that was attached to the nullity.
Father said everything will definately be done before Christmas.  Do you hear that mad laughter?  LOL  That is me.  Laughing madly is all I can do right now.  At least he didn't tell us a couple more weeks, then have to be put off yet again.  And we will meet again after he gets those results back.
Also, everything for me will also be done in the same Mass.  It'll probably be on a Friday or Saturday, with as many or as few people as we want.  I wish all you could be there :)
So sometime in the next two months I will be Catholic in name in addition to spiritually ;)
Finally.
Ali
You should have the whole thing recorded and put it on the forum for all those people who need encouragement!  And for the rest of us who have been pulling for you to make it!  Is it too soon to say "Welcome Home?"
Ali,
I have been following your journey so long, hoping that you would not lose heart over all the maddening roadblocks and delays.  I rejoice with you, not only because it is almost over but also because you have fought such a good fight.  Way to go!
