I am on a spiritual journey which seems to be leading me toward the Catholic faith. My question is, if I become Catholic would my marriage valid? Would I be able to participate in the Eucharist? Would I be living in sin?
I am married to a Lutheran. We were married in the Lutheran Church. I am almost certain that he will not join me in a conversion to the Catholic faith- 99.9% sure. (However, I said almost, because one should never say never. If someone told me that I would be on this journey one year ago, I would have thought they had lost their mind.)
Thanks for the help and all that you do!
God Bless

If this is the first and only marriage for both of you, then your marriage will almost certainly be recognized by the Church.
I say "almost certainly" because there are exceptions, such as marriage between first cousins, marriage under duress, etc., that probably don't apply. To be certain, discuss the individual details of your marital relationship with a priest or other trained minister (pastoral associate, etc.).
