Have you read the book "Why Catholics Can't Sing" by Thomas Day? I'm reading it right now... I'm on chapter 5: "Ego Renewal". Ugh.
I was at a dreadful Mass last night.

I haven't read it, but I've often heard it mentioned. As a longtime amateur musician and music lover myself, I always cringe at mediocre, insipid church music. To me, it is obvious, even on an aesthetic level alone, that much of the music in our Masses today, is of a very poor quality.

Here's my description of the "Jenga" Mass (with rubrics instead of wood-bricks) last night.

I read your whole description. wow.... How did you even stay? Did you think "It can't possibly get any worse"? But it kept getting worse and worse...
Jenga. That's good. I think he pulled out too many "roo-bricks," though, and the Mass collapsed.
