I'll take crying babies over something I just cannot get past....

And it is blowing your nose during the Consecration!  I just don't get it.  When the priest raised the Body of Christ one Sunday and said the words of Jesus "This is my Body", it went quiet and someone actually blew their nose!!!  How rude and ignorant is this???  I can't believe some people, what an offense to God.

I do understand what you're saying and that would be rude, but in my mind as I read your comment it came out as a scene from some sort of irreverent comedy.  I laughed!  But I don't think I would have laughed if I'd been there...

People are sometimes clueless....

I would rather hear that than a cell phone ringing.

YES!  The cell phones!  But people forget to turn them off.  The nose blowing I can't get over...it's almost comical in an ignorant way!

Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do.  I came close to sneezing during the Consecration today, and extremely close during the singing of the Memorial Acclamation.  Since it happens that I was the organist and song leader, it would NOT have been very cool.  I managed to avoid it, but it sure came close!  Good thing the Memorial Acclamation is not very long, or there could have been very unpleasant remnants all over both keyboards!

Oh, that's funny Cajun.  I can understand a sneeze as you cannot help that but blowing the nose??  I get very upset over that especially at that moment.  This could be helped by just waiting a few more seconds.  Oh well, when I am in church, I must simply pay attention to what is in front of me and not around me..

If I'd taken a second to blow my nose when it started to tickle, I wouldn't have had to sneeze.  But my attention was so focused on the Blessed Sacrament, I didn't think of it.  I can't say that I wish I had blown my nose, but I sure wouldn't have hit so many sour notes on the Anamnesis!

Not everyone is aware of the importance of the elevation of the Body and Blood of Christ.  Sad, but true.

Pray for them.
