The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has released a 28-page special edition of its monthlty newsletter dealing with the papal motu proprio Summorum Pontificum. The newsletter includes the full text of the document and the letter the Holy Father wrote to the bishops accompanying the document, and a section of questions and answers indicating how the instruction is to be implemented in the United States. Among other things, it highlights that only priests who are qualified to properly conduct the 1962 liturgy may use the extraordinary Roman rite. It also highlights the similarities and differences between the ordinary and extraordinary rites.
The newsletter is attached to this message and is used with permission of the USCCB.
