I am going to be out of town on the weekend that this feast day is, which I believe is on Dec. 8, a Saturday. So I am assuming that this means I will have to plan to get away to go to church twice if I possibly can set this up with my family to be agreeable. Meaning, I will need to go Saturday morning (friday evening is not possible due to travel) and then I will need to go again either saturday evening or Sunday morning. I think this is correct because I do not think this feast is one that gets moved to sunday if it falls nxt to it, and I also do not think going to a saturday evening mass would fulfill the obligation to both go to the Immaculate Concpetion service and the Sunday obligation.

Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception is the patroness of the United States.  Unlike the Feast of the Ascension, her feast is not transferred to Sunday, and unlike some other holy days, the obligation is not removed if it falls on a Saturday.  So yes, if at all possible, you will have to attend mass twice -- once either on Friday evening or Saturday morning, and once on either Saturday evening or Sunday.

Also remember that for a good reason, any priest can dispense your obligation to attend mass on any Sunday or holy day if you talk to him about it in advance.
