and with a priest. It was so cool. I got all emotional for some reason.:)

People talked to me at "doughnut time" too. I'm going back there.:)

OK, Annie, details, please!

If this happened on Sunday, then you and I each received Communion at the Rail
for the first time that day. It's wonderful to be able to kneel. Normally, I grasp the
front pew and genuflect and then have to remain standing as I receive. Everyone
else (except others with unreliable knees) kneels to receive.

We'll have a new chapel next summer ---with a RAIL. Yay!
and a pipe organ----double Yay!

Okay, I went to a parish in Columbus about 15 minutes from home. I knew they are very orthodox, the parish is run by an order of priests. The building is long and narrow, hence the rotten acoustics, so I sat up front under the ceiling speaker so I could hear better (it was still difficult). There are beautiful windows and paintings everywhere and a hardwood floor. There is a white rail with a purple long cushion all along its length. Very posh. And they appear to have the original altar. The tabernacle is where it belongs, centered over the old altar.

I went up and imitated everybody else. Father came over and after I said "amen" I was praying I wouldn't do something stupid like bite his finger off. Shouldn't I have practiced first or something? But it was okay. And on my way back to my pew I started to cry (I am not a person who normally cries except when I see something extremely beautiful or noble or somebody else is crying). The people around me looked sort of uncomfortable but I took off my glasses and composed myself eventually. The elderly Irish-looking man next to me looked at me tenderly.

And afterward, at "doughtnut time" people were very nice. I think I will go there when Father Wingit (he of the Sex Lecture) is saying Mass back home.:)

I noticed too the LONG lines outside the confessionals. Not everybody got in! I was told by a lady she prefers to confess every month but is only able to get in every 6 months or so. I guess I will remain with my current confessor, who does great.

How perfect.

You certainly had to wade through a lot of not-so-wonderful stuff
to get to that beautiful experience.

I'm happy, Annie.

Love it, Dave. It's beautiful.

Please tell me women enter that special place modestly clad.

I'm happy for you Annie!  I know what you mean about the crying, I have to steel myself sometimes and even let my mind wander to diffuse the emotion.  Funny though, I've never received anyway but on the tongue.  I still feel self conscious about it.  I hope you get to attend mass there a lot.
