Is Pope Benedict making any more headway on adding more Latin to the Mass and on Sacred Music?
I am anxiously awaiting this change because having the Mass said in Latin is so beautiful and reverent and I share his views on preserving the Tridentine Mass with all its beauty.
Just last week I read that the Holy Father is putting the finishing touches on a motu proprio which will broaden the indult for the traditional Latin Mass (1962 missal). The implication was that it would be released shortly after Easter. Of course, this is what I heard last December, too: “soon after Christmas.” If that “shortly after” turns out to be some months yet, we can remind ourselves that patience is still a virtue.
