I received a crucifix medal of St Benedict. I also had it blessed inside its original case. Does this bless the case as well and the leaflet inside? Can I just throw those away or are they blessed now since they were with the blessed item? Or is only the item I intended to be blessed blessed? I want to get rid of the packet because of a misprint it has in it.

The horizontal beam of the Cross also has five letters: N.D.S.M.D., meaning Non Draco Sit Mihi Dux (Let not the dragon be my guide).

that is what it is supposed to say. In my leaflet it translates the phrase to say "Let the devil hot be my leader" That may be funny but it seems to be a quite big mistake. It is probably supposed to say 'not' instead of 'hot' but either way I do not like what it reads as. Can I throw it out. Should I try to contact the manufacturer?

The rest of the information is correct in its anti-evil message so I do not think this was intentional.

You may discard the package and the leaflet.  The medal is what was blessed.

Such things are usually made overseas these days, probably in China or Korea, and such misprints are common.
