Hi all,
I made it to early Mass today and the first reading was from Acts, about the persecution that followed after the death of Stephen, and the Gospel was about Jesus being the Bread of Life.
Now, I download the readings from the US Bishops conference and they are different! What happened?
Peace,
Gene

There is often a choice of readings available to the priest on weekdays. Sometimes there are multiple optional memorials available for various saints, and sometimes there are choices for the given day. I know that some people believe there are a single set of defined readings for every given day, but that's simply not true. Alternatives are often available.

Hi Rick,
Thanks! I figured it was something like that. I thought maybe the Bishop's site would have had them. They usually do for Sunday.
Peace,
Gene

They have the daily readings as well, but not normally all the available options. With optional memorials, requiem masses, votive masses, etc., there can be dozens of choices on some days.
