| Forgive me if this is in the wrong topical area, but I'm one of those who enjoys having a religious candle burning in my apartment (usually the Sacred Heart or Our Lady of Guadeloupe). I do no have them blessed by a priest, however. Once they have been used up is it ok to simply throw the glass candle holder away? And, if so, what should be done with candle holders that are blessed and given as a gift?

The holder is exactly that, a holder, and once the candle itself is used up, the holder may be discarded normally. When you have it blessed, it is the candle that is being blessed. Similarly, when holy water is placed into a bottle, it is the water that is blessed, not the bottle.
I'm not sure what you're asking about the candle holders blessed and given as gifts. If they are reusable, they should be treated as a sacred item and buried, not just thrown out with the trash.
