I thought there had been a post somewhere (maybe it was on the old board or something else I read) that talked about spiritual guidance. I can't remember if it was better or not to have the director and confessor be the same person. I guess there are pros and cons both ways.
It does not come up when I search so does anyone remeber this or have an opinion on which is preferable?
BTW, in my searches, I did come up with an internet site offering spiritual guidance but it may be old as many of the links did not work.

I don't think there's any problem with having your confessor as your spiritual director as long as your spiritual director is a priest.  (Nuns, religious brothers, and even lay people can be trained and qualified spiritual directors.)  However, the confessional is not the place for spiritual direction.  Proper spiritual direction requires more time than what is available in a quick confession before mass, and there is always the possibility that you may feel the need to confess a sin and not have a scheduled appointment with your spiritual director.

BTW, that was a thread on the old board, which is currently non-functional.  We're not certain at this point if it is lost forever or if it can be resurrected in some form.  We'll know more after the holidays.

I knew I had read something somewhere. I had printed some things but not all so I must have missed that one. Thanks.
