When I heard her speak several months ago, she mentioned this.  She said that way back in her 20's or so, while still Jewish and long before she became a Christian, she was heartbroken when she heard that nuns were raising their hemlines.  To her, it was a sign of the breakdown of tradition.

And so her nuns will wear full-length habits, she said.

I'll miss her at Catholic Answers, hearing her on CA Live...
