I thought the following opinion column was very interesting:

If you don't believe this is true, go to any CINO (Catholic in Name Only) website and see how often their mission statements mention loyalty to the Magisterium or even the name of Jesus Christ. Instead, you'll find a lot about "diversity, inclusion, social justice," etc.
God's Blessings,

And while we're at it, First Things has Notre Dame in its crosshairs again.
Inasmuch as I love rooting for the Irish on the gridiron, I can't help thinking the football team is having to pay for the sins of the so-called "administration" running the place. It's as "catholic" as Amherst and Mount Holyoke are "protestant" nowadays.
If a college calls itself "catholic" and hires mostly non-catholics, allows the "vagina monlogues" to be shown on its campus and isn't owned by a diocese, you can rest assure it won't be "catholic" much longer, if hasn't already lost its unique spiritual salt.
From what I gather, even the Four Horsemen wouldn't water their nags in South Bend anymore. Chances are they'd just ride by not even noticing there was a catholic college there; much less a place called Notre Dame.
Ditto for Boston College, Georgetown and Holy Cross. At least ND doesn't have the handicap of being run by the Jesuit Order. And although Ave Maria in Florida is run by Fr. Fessio, a Jesuit, protege and close friend of Pope Benedict. He's running it -- separately from his order. No wonder all of its cylinders are purring in synch with Rome.
If I were Charlie Weis, I'd be calling Bob Kraft of the Patiots for his old job back. And a lot of Pats fans would be more than happy and delighted to forgive, forget and have him back.
