J.L. Packer had enough and pack'd it in. Bad pun and I'm sorry. Here's the more professional way of introducing the story from Christian Post. (I could've put it in another way, but no even I couldn't have ... just read on ... what a "loyalist" priest up there had to say in response to Packer's decision to leave said volumes for what's gone completely wrong in that diocese and branch, period.

Famed Theologian Quits Anglican Church of Canada

"The Rev. Kevin Dixon, priest at St. Mary's Anglican Church in Kerrisdale, meanwhile believes Packer is adopting a "literalistic" reading of the Bible.

"It's important for people to understand that the holy scriptures is a very nuanced document. I think we need to allow people room to come to a new understanding," said Dixon, the local newspaper reported.

"I have not always held the view that same-sex relationships are consistent with the gospel of Jesus Christ, but now I do."

(spb) In a very understated response, the theologian had this to say:

"I'm simply being an old-fashioned mainstream Anglican," Packer said.

I saw that the other day- my family thought that it was an "American Episcopal" problem and they wouldn't see it happen up there- I told them it was a matter of time- oh well I am glad that I am home and that my family is on the way- once the kids are settled I  will work on the husband though that may not be as successful!:shrugging:

Just don't be nuanced about it. Lookit what nuances did for the Canadian Anglicans. They nuanced one of the greatest minds right out of their church once and for all.
