I just want to praise God for turning my husband's heart towards something that is so important to me: the Roman Catholic Church.  This only a week after he adamantly said he never would.  However, it was on the condition that I take a ride with him on his Harley...I'm afraid, having already lived through one head injury....

So, he went with me to what my RCIA director joked was the "Baptist" part of the service.  I'm in RCIA and must leave before the Eucharist for a class on the scriptures and homily.  But, he went to class with me also!  I was sooooo happy.  He even participated a little in the discussion.

But this is no guarantee that he will go back.  At least he got to meet the folks in RCIA with me so he'll know who I'm talking about when I do.  He made no comment on the drive home...so I finally had to ask what he thought.  He won't tell me!  Just smiles his "wouldn't you like to know" smile and would make no comment.  I'm taking this as a good sign, since he wasn't negative about it.

Now about the motorcycle ride...I've yet to do it, but we've had an early spring here in Ohio so I won't be able to put it off long.  Please pray for my safety.:?

I'm going to a passion play Sunday afternoon in Covington, KY., and I'm praying he'll go with me (as soon as I take the ride, I'm sure).  Boy, he must reallllly want me to ride with him!

Any comments?

Christine Ann

P.S.  My priest told him he has put over 100,000 miles on a motorcycle in his life...that he's riden all over the country!  He said it was a peaceful and prayerful time for him.  My husband definately was impressed.  It's amazing how God could use a motorcycle to draw him!  Incredible.:D

That's wonderful!! I'm glad that your husband was open to going to church with you. I pray that he will continue to be interested in learning more about the RCC.

He allowed the window to open.  As you may have noticed, once the window is opened, it's hard to keep the wind and the light out.

It's a start!

Christine Ann, that is wonderfu!  I am rejoicing with you.  From what you have said, your husband sounds a bit like mine.  I too, was shocked when he went to the Bible study at our local Catholic parish.  My husband even recognized that the priest was a godly man.  After the Bible study, he approached Father and said to him, "I can see that you are a man who loves Jesus."  Now I NEVER thought I would see the day when my husband would say such a thing to, heaven forbit, a priest.

I will pray for you and your husband.  Please pray for my husband as well.  Keep us updated too, won't you?

God Bless you and your husband on this wonderful journey of faith!

Darlene

Dear Christine Ann, I rejoice with you also, and I'll pray for you and your husband.  When I was in college I had a little Honda that could go 40 mph tops.  Obviously your husband's Harley is in an entirely different league!  Please wear your helmet, and please know that we are praying for you.

Dear friends in Christ,

Thanks to you all who responded with such encouraging words...and I took my ride this afternoon with a helmet!  Now we'll see if he'll go back again.

I really appreciate your prayers.  Prayer is the only thing that will draw my husband to the RCC.

In His Love,

Christine Ann

Dear Darlene,

I've followed your journey with your husband and you most certainly have my prayers.  Thank you for yours.

I was so surprised when he came up with his offer...like you, I couldn't imagine it happening.  But then, nothing is too hard for our God!  I'm just delighted that he joined me.

God bless you and yours,

Christine Ann
