Hi all,
OK, I've got another "technicality" question.
I am aware of the fasting rule before receiving the Eucharist (1 hour before), but is there any fasting rule AFTER receiving.
I like to go to the 12:10 Mass here in town, but I like to go to grab a sandwich @ the deli afterwards.
As I "get it" with the real presence, Just want to receive properly; before and after ...
Thanks,

No. As long as we don't start seeing Ben & Jerry's or McDonald's franchises in Catholic churches, there's nothing to worry about.

Some of the Byzantine Rite Catholic churches have a charming custom of giving out "blessed bread" (not consecrated) to people as they leave church. They eat this simple, clean, blessed bread conscious that it's the next thing they are eating after the Body and Blood of Christ.
Lovely custom, keeps us mindful of what (Who) we have within us.

I like the custom also. It is my understanding that this bread is prepared for consecration but not used. In the Byzantine Rite, blessed bread and wine are mixed to form the consecrated Eucharist, so any remaining bread would spoil if not consumed.
Byzantine Churches use leavened bread and do not generally have daily Liturgies, so any unused bread would have to sit for a week until the next Divine Liturgy. Instead, it is blessed and distributed to any who wish to consume it or take it home to loved ones unable to attend the Liturgy. It is not the consecrated Eucharist, but allows a homebound person to participate in the Liturgy at least in some way.
