At our Communion Service this morning, our deacon added a special prayer for his son and daughter-in-law who had just given birth to his 54th grandchild!!!

I wonder if they all get birthday cards......

My inlaws have 12 children, and upwards of 50 grand and great granchildren.  My MIL feels so bad that she is unable to buy for them all, I stress to her that it's not about cheap plastic toys and time spent with them is much more important.  Everyone does get a birthday card, though.  She is a tremendous women to keep them all straight.

I always find it strange that westeners call a 6 people get-together as a "party".  :)

On my mother's side of the family we have a yearly Christmas party-cum-re-union.  Attendance is almost a hundred (I think) ... and rising :)  And this wouldn't be considered a very big get-together...just somewhat "big" :)

At 34, I'm a "grandmother" by my cousin's daughter's kid :) :) :)
