This Monday, Dec.10 Tiber Jumper (aka Dobrodoc) and PD, (Prodigal Daughter) will be on The Journey Home with Marcus Grodi, EWTN. My apologies if this is posted elsewhere, but let's be sure to watch and support them with our prayers now, before the show. I KNOW their story will be an encouragement to many souls out there.  They are dear friends and I admire them very much.  You're in my thoughts and prayers and I will light a candle for you at Adoration this Sunday night.  You're loved in Omaha!  Thank you for who you are, for all you're doing and the light that your are to so many of us! Thank you for your zeal and love for Holy Mother Church!

PAX,

susie

Thanks Susie!!  We didn't put her up to this by the way.  :)  We do covet your prayers though especially because we are both fighting colds.   It's a joy and privilege to be on the program and knowing that our virtual family here at CHNI is praying for and supporting is a blessing too special for words!  Thank you so very much!

We sure will!  Subliminal messages across the bottom of the screen might be a thought, too. Suggest to Marcus or the gang at EWTN something like this:

CHNI FORUMS...CHNI FORUMS ARE A GREAT PLACE TO CONNECT WITH OTHERS ON THE JOURNEY HOME...PLEASE GO TO CHNI FORUMS AND JOIN US....YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED at CHNI FORUMS... YOUR SOCKS WILL BE BLESSED RIGHT OFF YOUR FEET WHEN YOU JOIN CHNI FORUMS....YOU WILL FIND HELP AND SUPPORT FOR YOUR JOURNEY FROM MEMBERS OF CHNI FORUMS...REMEMBER, CHNI FORUMS...THAT'S CHNI FORUMS...:D

Maybe I'll send this in tomorrow night as an email.;)

I was gonna suggest tatoos on their foreheads, but they both have bangs.  I guess we'll have to accept blinking neon lights on their jackets!

Rick...You're prodigious!  That's an excellent idea!  And maybe little neon flags affixed to their chairs, like golf carts, with CHNI forums printed on them!  OR, they could be inventive and get some fabric markers and write CHNI Forums on a couple black sweatshirts, in NEON PINK and ORANGE.  That would be attractive, too! CHNI Forum Fashions!  Wow....looks like my creative juices are flowing nicely!

NOPE, Caj, I haven't imbibed.  I've not sipped any beverage remotely alchol-laden at this hour.  ;) However, it IS cold in this house and an Irish Coffee sounds delightful, or ... a Screwdriver with a sprig of mint...or... I know - Mimosas for everyone!  Hey, let's all get creative and send in our thoughts to Doc and PD.

Oh, wait, they're probably in Alabama by now.

So as Emily Litella would say. . .
"Never mind."

How about a few forum members call in with good questions or comments?  And just mention, clearly, the forum where people can join in discussions without fear of cranky or obnoxious responses! ;)

I just registered with the forum. I have never been in a forum but I wanted to find a way to tell Russ and Deborah how inspiring their appearance was for me as a former Southern Baptist who came home thirty years ago. Thanks so much for telling it.

Hi, Pam, welcome.  Yes, they did a great job, but it took them a whole 27 minutes to mention the forum!  And our user Japhy sent an email and didn't mention us at all!  :D

Since you've never been on a forum before, I guess I should explain that smilies like that one mean I'm just kidding.  Well, sort of, anyway.  Sheesh, 27 minutes!  But they did a good job, because they brought you here, so I can't complain.

At least not too much.....

Russ and Deb....Thank you! Thank you for your wonderfu witness to TRUTH!

Russ, never worry about 'choking up' when you talk about the Eucharist.  I can't help but do the same. Tears rolled down my cheeks (twice as we watched it again -DVR) when you spoke about our Blessed Lord's true presence in the Eucharist, the source and summit of our faith.  I get affected the same way, because when I was told all my life it was a symbol, and to finally have my eyes and heart opened to KNOW the REALITY OF JESUS in the bread and the wine...that HE changes those elements into Himself...for us, it's the most moving thing to ponder and come to believe!

You both were wonderful, and I hope that many of my email friends were able to watch.  I think I sent out the word to about 75 or so people.  I called one couple, "Catholic" but going to Assembly of God right now, though also to Mass....at times.  All of their children go to independent church 'fellowships'.... anyway, she said 'We'll watch" and so I do hope and pray that your heartfelt words and story deeply touched them.  I hope they'll be back into FULL communion with the Church soon.  We are never called by God to leave the Catholic Church.  WE weren't.  But I sure thought I was called to leave her, so we had 26 years away and if I'd only known what and WHO I was leaving.... well, I understood Deborah when she said she regretted leaving the CC.

Yes, God still took care of us, and protected us from REALLY going off the rails and into some twisted cult, however, I also know that for 26 years, I too, missed out on receiving and consuming my Lord (as He commanded us to do Jn 6) and growing by that tremendous grace of that most precious sacrament, not to mention how much 26 years of reconciliation, confession to a priest would have done for me!  BUT , I can't look back with regret, only press ON FORWARD, NOW.... God's time is NOW.  We are loving our 3 years back in the CC and I know our two sons, much like Russ's and Deb's are 'good kids' who are searching.  They weren't brought up in the CC and have no formation, but they're now watching us and asking some questions and I pray, finding answers.  They're at least open.  Our agnostic lawyer son is now the most open and curious.  Russ, Deb, we're praying for you and your dear sons.  Thanks for your prayers for us, and ours, too.

GOD bless and keep you and everyone here in this wonderful VIRTUAL FAMILY.  That's what I know this is for all of us.  a virtual family of God, finding the One True Church in profound ways.  All of us with our own journeys, building up one another, and most of all giving HOPE to a seeking, hungry world!  This is truly a great way to communicate with others on this blessed joyous and sorrowful journey Home.  To one day finally jump that Tiber, swim with all our might and find our Mother, fall into Our Lady's arms so she can then clean us up, love us and lead us into the arms and Sacred Heart of her Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ.  But for now, look what our Lord has done and does for us at every Mass.  HE comes down to us in a wafer of bread every day! Even more humble and lowly than a babe in a manger!  Now THAT'S a personal relationship with Jesus!  Not one martyr died for a mere 'symbol!'  No, they died for Jesus in the Eucharist!  So my "thank yous" also rise to Heaven right now, to all our precious big brothers and sisters, that 'cloud of witnesses'  the glorious Communion of Saints!

PAX to all here,
susie
p.s.  Welcome Pam! :)

I watched the Journey Home program last evening, and I hope to watch it again today to soak up more of what Russ and Deb had to say.  I especially appreciated their mention of "having more of God."  I've been receiving the Blessed Sacrament for eight months now and have been trying to put into words what they said so well.  In the non-denominational church that I attended, the pastor would say in prayer, "Let Jesus become real to us," and it was the passionate plea of every member, and really, their work to try through prayer, Bible reading, and hands-to-heaven worship to have Jesus become real to them.  I pleaded along with everyone else.  And now, Jesus has become real to me.  Through the Eucharist, my pleading prayer has been answered, and I no longer have to work to make Jesus seem real to me.  He comes to me in the Eucharist, and I seem to be able to receive more of him each time.  How can such a thing be talked about to those who are not Catholic?

I agree, Free.  It's so hard to tell some of my friends about this, as they remain "closed" to hearing it.  I need to pray for them that they'll be receptive to the grace and be open to the grace to really "hear" the GOOD NEWS.  Like you, I'm receiving more and more of God at every Mass, and before the Blessed Sacrament each time I go and sit with Him.  But the Eucharist, what a wonderful and awesome gift!  I pray these hungry souls, like I once was in our Interdenominational fellowship, will be so hungry they'll return to the Church and be "fed" like NEVER before!

I listened to Jeff Cavins' c.d.  "I'm Not Being Fed" which is about the Eucharist.  It's those words I used to say and tell others, "Go where you're fed.".......hm, how MUCH meaning that has for me now as a Catholic, in my heart and soul!  It was a gift of grace and faith that God gave me to finally "see" the reality.  How I long now for my Evangelical friends to come to Mass with us.  I've invited, but get "no comment".... it's the silence that is so frustrating.  I'd rather have a civil debate and find out what they're thinking and really believe about the CC (which is most likely erroneous as I once believed) than to be ignored.

But, I have to trust that their silence is only because of fear, or maybe they just don't want to talk about it, being "comfortable" in their fellowships.  It's hard to know what to say when the two I email most are so loudly quiet.  But they've not told me to stop sending them emails, so until I hear that, I'll keep on sending them every month or so.  They're both searching for 'more of God' and think they find "more of God" at each different 'church' they go to now.   There's been so much turmoil and division in the one 'church' we all used to attend.  One couple's in their 2nd fellowship since leaving, and the other couple hasn't found a church home yet.

I'm like Deb, I no longer hunger for more of God in that same way that I did as an Evangelical, but I hunger for more of God in a new way, and it's the MASS!  I love to go to Mass!  That's where I go to get 'more of God' and where I'm fed by God himself!  How powerful and how awesome...too much for words really.  I love the Mass and I love being sent out now with more than just a 'great message' from an expository sermon by some pastor.  Our former pastor had some fine and powerful messages, but NOTHING can compare to Christ in the Eucharist.  THAT IS POWER and life changing!  Now it's Jesus flesh and blood that's the "more of God" that I crave and am blessed to receive every day!  WOW....I'm excited.  I need to get off this chair and get read to go to Mass!

You are in luck. Normally, the show is repeated at 10 AM EST on Tuesday, and 1 PM Wednesday. Also late at night sometime also but I forgot that time. Great Show! Worth watching several times!

This particular program was one of the better ones. It also exposed the folly of the "name it, claim it" theology. Praying for healing and not receiving it does not reflect a lack of faith at all. I hope the Protestants who watched it at least took that away from it even if they missed the part about the Eucharist.

By Wednesday the show is usually in the archives and you can watch it if you have high speed or listen to it as a radio if speed is dicey.- I have never managed to see the live show- we don't have access to cable where we live- too rural. I only left the dial up modem to move  to a wireless system when both kids hit high school since the modem couldn't handle their homework, at it's fastest our phone line could only give us about 17 to 18 kbs- regardless of what speed our modem was.:)

I didn't even realize Marcus' guests were forum members until you mentioned it.  I was like, "Yay, look how much they love God", you know, all proud that someone in my cyber-family provided such a great witness for Christ.  It's nice to actually see you.

God bless-

Laura

A great big THANK YOU:D to all of our family here at the Coming Home Network for your prayers and support!  It was such a blessing to know that we had so many friends praying for us.  Before the show we made a visit to the EWTN chapel and Jesus gave us much needed peace.
