This coming Easter, I will celebrate 10 years as a Catholic. I also turned 60 last summer - so 50 years as a Protestant and 10 years as a Catholic. I generally attend Daily Mass - so using a round figure of 250 Masses each year - for 10 years, that becomes 2,500 (probably plus) receiptions of our Lord and Savior in the Blessed Sacrament!!! For 50 years as a Protestant - and generally every Sunday attendance (let's use 50 Sundays in a year) amounts to 50 * 50 or 2,500 Sundays as a Protestant. Not equating the two, but these ten years have generally been fantastic (not that the other wasn't good - it was the solid foundation for understanding Catholicism)!!!

Hi Bruce,
Welcome to the forum! I had to laugh when I read your calculations because I did something similar when I reverted. While I was raised Catholic, I spent eleven years being "too cool" for organized religion, and nineteen years as a protestant. That's thirty years of missed Eucharist. I now attend daily mass and love it. I figured out that six years of daily mass equals the number of Sunday masses I missed while foolishly wandering. Believe me, I know daily mass now doesn't make up for what I threw away then, but it does help assuage the pian a bit.

Thanks Dede!!
The other day I was singing (to myself) a little chorus from those Evangelical years - "I keep falling in love with Him, over and over, over and over again; (2X); He gets sweeter and sweeter as the days go by; Oh what a love between my Lord and I; I keep falling in love with Him over and over again".
That is so much MORE SO as a Catholic. Daily I can personally receive HIM - sometimes I get overwhelmed (and ... unfortunately, some days I forget that joy and go through the motions). I truly AM falling in love with HIM!!!!

Welcome Bruce.
Sounds like you're making up for lost time. Congratulations on your 10 year anniversary with the Church.

Mike
