St. Monica, we ask for your intercession on behalf of Laura's daughter, whose birthday is tomorrow.  St. Monica, you never stopped praying that your son Augustine would return to the church, would grow up and put away his youthful bad habits.  We ask that you now pray for Laura's daughter as you prayed for your son.  Help her to find her way to Christ, to be a help and a joy to Laura, and thereby comforting Laura as she battles cancer.  We thank you St. Monica for your help and intercession.  In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Thank you, Marsha. I have prayed your prayer aloud.
It helps to know that someone else is also remembering Laura and her daughter. Even if I can't hear your voice, it's comforting to see your words.

Being a member of an Internet family is a bit of a challenge sometimes. Wish we could take Laura's family a pot of soup and say a prayer at her bedside.

Lord Jesus, please let Laura feel our love and concern for her.

Thanks Becky.  I do feel a connection to you and many of the forum members.  You know the way a television program beams up a signal to a satellite and then it gets beamed back down to another place?  That's how I imagine praying for others who are all across the country!  God is the satellite that I feel a connection through to everyone!  Maybe it sounds crazy but it's comforting crazy. ;)

The Comforter works in our hearts, doesn't He?

I'm always amazed when I ponder how God chooses to involve us in His work.
He waits for us to pray for one another. Praying changes us, changes the person for whom we pray, and seems to "change" God in some way --
persuading Him to be more merciful, persuading Him to send more grace, persuading Him to begin a work.

How extraordinary that these "changes" in the Almighty depend on our willingness to pray.

It comforts me to see how many folks on this forum generously pray for others.
