Welcome, Charles! This is a great forum. I'm sure we can learn much from you, too! I am a Protestant looking into the Catholic faith.  The people on this board have all made me feel quite welcome.  I pray you feel this way, too. :)

Hi, Charles, welcome.  My sister lives in West Monroe, and I have several nieces between Monroe, West Monroe, and Calhoun, so I'm very familiar with the area.  I'm down south in Houma (not Homer), and I'm happy to welcome another Bayou Stater to the forum!

Hi, Charles, I'd enjoy hearing more about your work with the RCIA group.

Welcome!

Hi Charles,

It sounds like you and I did the same thing. At the end of my RCIA experience, I volunteered to help out the following year and I have been there ever since. Next year I plan to try my hand at a couple of Power Point presentations. In my opinion, the leader of the team makes it a little different and a little better each year. It has been a great experience for me. I have learned more and more about the faith and about the Church each year. I am a firm believer in the theory, "if you want to learn something, try to help teach it".

Hi, Mandy from Michigan,:hi:

You've certainly come to the right forum.

Have you had a chance yet to explore the different topics under the FORUMS tab?

Glad you're here now,

Hi, Mandy, welcome to the forum.  We're glad to have you with us, and we'll help you any way we can.    I'm from a state close to water, too, but ours never freezes!

Have a hug :hugging: and sit a spell!  Take your shoes off and make yourself comfortable.

Just a few there's a lot to look at here in the forums. I am so happy for all the warm welcomes, I want to make friends on here in hopes to find some help and guidance into this transition. I just lost my grandfather last Friday and  he is Catholic and I was always intrigued by the Catholic faith. I just need any and all information people are willing to give me about the Catholic faith. If you have any suggestions at all please feel free to send them my way.

Fresh air is what we're all about, Mandy.  Everyone who is sincerely interested in the Catholic faith is welcomed here, regardless of where they are on their faith journey.  We're happy to walk with you, and we're glad to welcome you to our "family".

Hi Mandy.  I can't believe I overlooked your walking in to our growing family.  Welcome to the journey and relax awhile with us.  Rick invited you to kick off your shoes and relax.  Join me in a cup of coffee.

Mandy, I would suggest listening to a series of conversations between Kristine Franklin and Rosalind Moss. Scroll through them and choose one that seems especially interesting to you. Both these women are former Evangelicals. Notice that you have the option of listening immediately or of downloading the audio for later. Be sure you have just the plain Household of Faith, NOT the Now That We're Catholic.

Click here for Household of Faith.

Mandy, I'm so glad you are happy with the link for Household of Faith. Notice that program six is on the Mass and program seven is on the Eucharist.

We'll all be eager to read about your impressions after attending your first Mass this evening. Don't forget to tell us about it, OK?

God bless,
Becky :)
