My husband and I just renewed our vows tonight in honor of our 20th anniversary. Because he knew it really would mean a lot to me, we did so with the priest at my parish church. (It was only the two of us and the priest.)
When I first starting attending the Catholic Church last spring, I had asked my husband if he would be willing to do this because I was born Catholic and how that was needed to be in full communion with the church since we didn't get married in a Catholic Church. He got really angry with me and said that wasn't what we did the first time good enough. I decided to let it drop and did not bring it up again until last month. At that point he said he would be willing to do so in church.
This seemed a lot easier than I thought it would be. Is this all that was needed for my marriage to be sacramentalized?

Congratulations, Maureen. The answer to your question is most likely yes, but you really need to ask your priest to make sure. He'll want to verify that neither of you have been married before, and that you are indeed legally married, before he can record it in the sacramental register. Assuming all goes well, you can then make a good confession and return to the full sacramental life of the Church.
Welcome home!
